Research Assessment Exercise - RAE 2008 League Tables with all Institutions
RAE 2008 League Tables - Introduction
On the following PDFs you can find the so-called RAE League tables based on weighted averages. The RAE awards its ratings in percentages of 4*, 3*, 2*, 1* and Unclassified work.

League tables produced so far have used - sensibly so - the Overall Quality Profile score to create league tables. In late March 2009 the RAE Team published the individual scores for the different parameters which were measured. Therefore, we can now create league tables based on:
[Eds note. Comment on the meaning of profiles]
- Overall Quality Profile - which is based on the following 3 individual profiles:
- Research Outputs profile
- Research Environment profile
- Esteem Indicators profile
I guess it is in the nature of staff in Universities to look for minute factors which may make a difference. So you can find if your department is 1st, 4th or 104th out of 105 submissions in UoA 75 for Esteem Indicators. Equally you can look for paterns of scoring (e.g. where a panel scores all factors similar to Research Outputs), where the strengths and weaknesses of your department are (e.g. you do well in Research Environment but not so well in Research Ouputs).
