Welcome to the Division of Academic Affairs
The Division which is led by the Academic Secretary, Dr Ian K Francis, has responsibilities in the following main areas:
- servicing Senate and its Committees through the Senate Office and taking forward the development of policy and procedures initiated by those bodies;
- servicing Academic Council;
- providing advice and guidance including legal advice, on learning & teaching and employment related issues in the context of University policies, procedures and regulations and any other issues requiring a legal view;
- assuring the quality of teaching and research including effective engagement with the Scottish Quality Enhancement framework;
.
- liaising with the School Secretaries through the School Secretaries' Forum;
- assisting in the development of the University's Personal Development Planning (PDP) schemes for students;
- supporting DUSA in the areas of student representation and the election of student officers; and
- managing the Registry which includes the Central Timetabling Service.
